Nailene decals & OPI Sweet Heart

This is OPI Sweet Heart and it is so sheer I needed 4 coats.  I am so impatient inbetween coats I had bubbling.  I put on a cute decal by Nailene to distract your eye from it.  These stickers are great, it's super fast and easy nail art!

These are the ones Nailene sent me to review.  I have tried most of them and they are very cute.

I forgot to take pictures of some of my mani's, bad bad me :(  I will have more to show you some other time!

P.S. Tami asked where my pigment came from my last franken and here is the link:  I have the Harvest Moon set.

OPI You Ottaware Purple and some glitter barf

I have no idea what I was doing when I painted my clear polish here.  It just looks like gold glitter barfed on my nail.  I also forgot to take a proper before glitter pic of one of my favorite purples!  This shimmers blue and pink (or red?) I can't get enough of it.

I use this SH protein thing to stick my glitter onto, it dries slow so I have time to sprinkle with my brush.

I wanted to try a new nail shape, this lasted all of 24 hours before I filed them down lol.  It's not that I don't like the rounder shape, I just don't think it's for me.  You know those funny quizzes you can take, like which Friends character are you?  Well if they had one called What Nail Shape Are You?  I would be square :D

Franken Shock Collar

1 coat over OPI You Ottaware Purple.  This is pretty sheer alone since it is just pigment in WnW clear polish so I layered it.  A duochromey blurple that I love!

With flash.

The pigment I used is on the left.  It doesn't show the duochrome shimmer in the picture.  I used most of what was in there in my franken.  Probably 1 tablespoonish and 3/4 bottle of Wet n Wild clear.  The downside is I have to shake the poo out of it since it settles but oh so worth it!

OPI Ogre The Top Blue

2 coats with SV.  Yikes I needed to do cleanup, sorry for the mess.  My excuse is my brush was messed up.  Not something I expect with an $8 bottle of OPI.  I hate cleanup with a passion so I avoid it at all costs lol.   I have been on a no-buy since Feb, and I had to make an exception for this one bottle it was too pretty!

BM plate 01 with CC Where's The Soiree?.  These plates are too much fun!  If you haven't seen them yet check it out here.  It's 21 plates for $17.99!

Franken and Stuff

I haven't named this yet but I made this a while back and stamped with it before.  It's a burgundy shade with golden shimmer.  The best part is the shimmer actually shows up on the nail after applying!

I stamped this with DS Original, and Thirszha from Fab Ur Nails inspired me to stamp the design this way.  She does the best stamps I swear!  Check out her blog if you haven't been there.

I didn't like how mine turned out so I sprinkled some funky blackened glitter down the center.

It looks really blah in the pictures but this glitter was pretty awesome, it sparkles orange/gold then changes to green/teal!  It don't know the name of this one but it was made by Art Institute. It came in a little set of different glitters.

All in all it was pretty much a failed experiment.  At least I totally love the franken! :)

Color Club Pure Energy + BM15

4 coats with Diamont topcoat.  Next time I think I'll layer with this, 4 coats is a little ridiculous.  The color is too good tho to say no to!

BM plate 15.  I wanted more color so I painted in some of the feathers with purple, green and blue acrylic paint.

OPI Malaga Wine

I believe this was one of my first, if not the very first OPI I purchased as a teenager.  I wanted to save it so I haven't done a mani with it in years.  It smells sooooooooooo bad!  I have thinned it many many times over the years.  I'm not sure why I cling onto something so silly, but I know some of you can relate lol.

This is 2 coats with SV topcoat. It's jelly-like but I think it's a creme.  Or maybe an in between, a crelly!  I don't know, now I'm pulling words out of thin air.  I should just buy a backup bottle of this and be done with it, right?

Greasy hair, sans makeup what to do?  Put a cute corgi in front of you!

Claire's Mood Wild/Calm

I was about to chop my nails off when I realized I was saving a couple of Mood polishes for this!

I am wearing 2 coats with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri topcoat.  This dried to a satin-y finish so definitely needed a topcoat.  This polish is so fun, I was playing with cold water yesterday lol.

Have a good weekend!

Cookies and cream franken

Alex was eating cookies and cream ice cream a while back and I wanted to make a franken of it.  I made this a month or so ago I forgot my proportions but it was NYC white creme with maybe 1/2 teaspoon of my favorite black glitter.  I need more of this stuff in all different colors!

I freehanded the tips, 2 coats without topcoat.

I also got my Bundle Monster plates so I was dying to try them.  This is plate 11, I kept it simple but it covered up the 'cookies' part anyway.  CC Where's The Soiree was the stamp polish.

Sometimes it's hard to stop, isn't it?  1 coat of Northern Lights holographic top coat in gold over my stamp.  It says it dries in seconds, and it did so I didn't even need to use SV or any quick dry topcoat.

I decided to review the other Eyeko polishes in one post.  Once again, these were sent to me for review by Eyeko, you can purchase these polishes at their website here.  They ship internationally and offer free shipping for orders over $50.

 With flash.

Coral Polish is a really bright fresh color.  I can't wait to wear this one again!  It's very red with a hint of orange.  I am wearing 3 coats, no topcoat.  I had a tiny bit of VNL peeking out, but you can barely see it.

 With flash.

Tea Rose Polish is a dusty rose pink creme.  I am wearing 2 coats, no topcoat.  Some might think this is a boring and safe color, but I love it.  It makes my hands look dainty and feminine.

With flash.

Petite Polish is a pale sheer pink creme.  I am wearing 3 coats here, no topcoat.  I don't have the nails to pull this off alone since my nailbeds are all different sizes but a simple french tip will fix that!

I freehanded the white tips, it is Sally Hansen All The White Stuff.  I think it turned out too harsh, but you get the idea.

With flash.

Posh Polish is a gorgeous taupe creme.  I am wearing 2 coats with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri topcoat.  This is going to be my mani for the rest of the week!
This seemed like the closest color in bottle, so here is a comparison for you.

With flash.

Ott-Lite.  I was ashamed how bad my judgement was in the bottle lol.  High Society by Color Club is not even close!  It is way more gray and lighter.

These latest polishes from Eyeko were superb!  Application was fantastic with no streaking, each color was super opaque.  I even cheated on my right hand with Posh Polish and I am wearing only 1 coat! I love how each bottle has a different design, super cute.  The only downside I can think of is the bottles only contain .30 oz of product versus the standard .50 oz.

Yeah this is 1 coat, awesome right?  Oh and my thumb still has the same Nailene nail on it, that thing is amazing!  I will rave about that it in my review.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Curly Hair with 5 bobby pins!

I was feeling super lazy the other day and after blow drying my hair I did not want to flat iron it so I rolled up 5 sections of hair on my finger and pinned it with bobby pins.  I left it in for an hour, maybe 2.  I was surprised how curly it turned out!

I like using my flat iron to curl my hair, but I also like this look it is more natural looking.  One downside was there was no heat involved with the curling so my hair stayed a little frizzy. Next time I will use my hairdryer on it while it's rolled up.

Thumb mishaps

I broke this below the quick last week.  It grew out enough to trim it all down but it feels very uncomfortable still.

I used a Nailene nail to cover up my break, I had to file it to shape but fit all right (full review of the nails yet to come!).

My thumb turned out blurry but you can't even tell I broke a nail and put on a fake one!

So the next day my left thumb started to throb and it felt really hot all of a sudden, it was like that all day.  I noticed it kept getting worse as I was doing my Vampira Polish comparison.  So I took off my polish and saw I had a tear on my other thumb too!

Kind of hard to see but it's there.  I patched it up hope I don't snag it on anything before it can grow out.  Bad luck thumbs!

Eyeko Vampira Polish

I will be reviewing the rest of these soon.  They were sent to me by Eyeko.

Vampira is a black jelly base with tiny red glitter.  Here I used 2 coats and a coat of Diamont.  This applied very smoothly, was not thick at all. I love the glowing embers look on my nails.

Here is a comparison with China Glaze Lubu Heels.  I could have gotten away with only 2 coats of Lubu Heels I think if I was more careful but I had bald spots so I had to do 3.   They look completely identical to me, even under the scrutiny of a macro shot.  Eyeko Vampira polish has a slightly more opaque black base and was more easy to work with.  I will definitely be reaching for Vampira next time I want to wear this look!
