Glass Slipper, 3 coats with 1 coat of Seche Vite. A little too sheer for my taste but I like the delicate blue color.
Burgundy Blaze, 2 coats 1 coat of SV. My camera did not capture how pretty this is. A raspberry shimmer that is a little darker in person.
Pink Twinkle is a polish I've had untried for over a year. I didn't know what to layer it with! It's golden flakes in a sheer base. It looks pink but on the naked nail it might as well be clear. Maybe over black it will show up? I'm not a fan of this over Burgundy Blaze.
I hit 2 more DT's and yes, that is Molten Metal on the left there. I did a double take then looked for another but that was the only NYC pack they had.
I ended at Sallys because I need another bottle of Seche Vite and grabbed the tub of Mango Mend, but the girl ringing me up told me next month they are selling Mango Mend in tubes! Like the ones in the holiday pack but bigger. She went to the back and sold me this early. It's very very tiny compared to the tub, but I like how it's small enough to stash in my purse. It was around... $3.75 or so with Sallys card. The tub is better price wise but I hate tubs because it's messy and I always get product under my nails! It also feels unsanitary. Well anyway just a FYI for March at Sally Beauty.
I don't have any TV channels so I'll be watching olympics a day or two behind when I can find it for download. I have to stay away from the internet so I don't find out about the women's figure skating lol. I can't wait to watch it aaah!

The past few days my internet has been turning on and off intermittently . Mostly it's off and I might get 10 mins of internet where I can check email.
I'm trying to sneak in a fast one before it goes out again, this is Steel Wheeling by Maybelline Colorama. I'm wearing 1 coat of China Glaze Millennium and 2 coats of Steel Wheeling on top of it. This was pretty sheer and the layering was necessary. It has just the right amount of holographic glitter it makes your eye stay for a second longer lol. Found this and a bunch of others at the Dollar Tree in the 3 packs so I'll have more to show you soon.
Oh boy, now I show you my ultra messy nail spot lol. I have sabotaged our dining table and it looked like a gigantic rack of nail polish exploded and scattered bottles everywhere. I needed help!
I went and got a "Melmer", it's called that I guess because it's the Michael's alternative to Ikea's Helmer. I got it for %60 off!
It's still messy but a lot of my bottles are neatly inside! So anyway I woke up yesterday and saw this! Alex painted this HK on it while I was sleeping as a surprise.
I think he did a great job! Apparently he is not done and there is more to come. I am so excited! He used my acrylic paints to do it too haha. I went to the Dollar Tree recently and found a bunch of the Colorama 3 packs so I got some as you can see in these pictures.
I am so messy! What does your "nail station" look like?!
A lovely young lady by the name of Jessa contacted me recently asking me if I would like some nail art ideas. Of course! After exchanging some emails I discovered she is very talented. Today is her 12th birthday! I have recreated one of the looks Jessa sent to me.
Jessa's striped mani. She used Sally Hansen base coat, OPI Russian Navy and China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise. For the stripes she used Sally Hansen Celeb City and China Glaze For Audrey. Isn't this cute? I love it!
I changed up the colors a bit, for mine I used Color Club Where's The Soiree? as the black base. China Glaze Ruby Pumps on the tip, Color Club Wonderland for the silver glitter stripe and Art Deco white.
Thank you Jessa so much for your creative ideas! I did a birthday mani just for you!
The pale base is OPI Sweet Heart. I made some huge cupcakes by putting a glob of clear nail polish and dipping my nail into glitter. I then painted the rest with acrylic paint. There's a lollipop and some wrapped candies. I put a top coat over my index finger not knowing what was going to happen. The lovely texture of the cupcake glitter was taken away so my ring finger I just put TC over the paper cup part!
I love Food Network and sometimes they show specialty cupcake stores and they always make cupcakes piled sky high with frosting. I really wanted to try one of those, why not wear it too?
The past few days I've been filing my nails several times to a day to get them this short. It has been a painful process. As I type this the skin under my nails touch the keys and it is a very uncomfortable sensation that is hard to describe.
Why do this? I got fed up with not being able to do the simplest of tasks like picking up a bobby pin. I stabbed my eye the other day too. It was those pesky sharp corners I always kept! I like my nails super square, it suits the way they grow and photograph well. But in my real life they are a nuisance. Don't worry I will go square again soon. Didn't you know it's hip to be square?
I went to CVS to check out the 75% off cosmetics sale, I got there late so I had to settle for the scraps lol. There was a ton of SH polishes 1/2 off tho, even the older HD ones! Anyway I only got 1 SH and it was Cocktail Party. I'm so drawn to the darker colors in the store. I put this on and I thought it looked just like my favorite red jelly, Jane Hot Blooded.
Well well well, what do you know it's pretty much a dupe. I needed 3 coats of Cocktail Party and only 2 of Hot Blooded. Oh hey you know what's nice about nubbins? You don't have to worry about nail line lol.
Just the thumb is Hot Blooded. I think they're trying to ditch these square bottles so grab a bottle at your local drugstore quick!
I decided I would not make you wait 4 days to see the whole collection lol so here they all are!
These were sent to me by Color Club for review. Click to enlarge!
High Society, 3 coats with 1 coat Seche Vite. Mushroomy!
The french tip designs always trip me up! I can never center it right.
I like their new labels!
Best Dressed List 3 coats with 1 coat Out The Door (I know omg!). A nice soft kind of beige color. It looked kind of reddish on me.
Who Are You Wearing? 4 coats with 1 coat Seche Vite. Pale soft white. Er, is it even proper to describe white as pale?!
Charity Ball 2 coats with 1 coat Seche Vite. I don't know, this made me think of Thanksgiving. Some kind of spiced cake or something lol.
She's Sooo Glam 3 coats with 1 Seche Vite. This was pretty bright pink. I'm pretty sure this is the first time I have ever said this about any pink, but I think this looked wrong with my skintone! I can't describe it, it somehow looked strangely artificial.
Rebel Debutante 3 coats with 1 coat Seche Vite. Bright green. I had a difficult time capturing the color on this one, it's lighter than shown here. This one also did not suit my skintone. It gave me alien hands.
Gossip Column 2 coats with 1 coat Seche Vite. A blue-green teal. My favorite out of this collection, I have been wearing this for a few days now no chips with barely visible tipwear.
Ms. Socialite 2 coats with 1 coat Seche Vite. A nice rich purple.
Uptown Girl 3 coats with 1 coat Seche Vite. A dusty lilac. I really liked this one as well, very delicate looking.
Most of these were on the watery side for me, some of them were a little more work to apply but nothing major. The 2 darker ones were nice and opaque and went on perfectly in 2 coats. It is available to purchase now, I checked VNS and Transdesign really quickly and saw them there!
Another mini that came in the set. Mesmerize is a nice blue creme, I'm wearing 2 coats with a coat of SV. It is not quite so dark blue in person.
I decided to try using thread to do some nail art. I was picturing in my mind more clean lines than this but I ended up liking the result. I just tied regular old sewing thread on my index finger and dabbed some China Glaze Millennium on it and pulled it taut and just sort of put it across my nails in different directions. It's really nothing exciting, you could do this with just the nail polish brush lol. I might try something else to make better lines next time, maybe wax dental floss.
A friend gave me a set of Essie mini's for Xmas, from the 2009 spring collection. This one is called Status Symbol and I'm wearing 3 coats with a coat of SV. Hot pink is my kind of color! I love Essie mini's, the brush is big and the polish is so easy to apply (cough cough OPI!).
3 coats with a coat of SV. This one was the most neutral looking on me, a very pale beige.
My TJ Max had Essie's on sale for $.70 a bottle. I snagged a few sheers and whites! Haha I even saw one for .30 but it was because the outside of the bottle was covered with another nail polish. Just a heads up in case you haven't checked yours lately!
